How to Juggle Multiple Tasks
2 mins read
In an ideal world, we would deal with one task at a time. However, often items on our to-do list can come at once. This can be at work as well as in our personal lives. Here’s how you can make it work!
Stay focused
When there are multiple things to do, it can be challenging to focus on one item at a time. By planning and allocating set time for each task, you’re far more likely to succeed. Jumping from item to item before each is completed, can not only impact the quality of what you’re doing but also your stress levels.
Find support
Even if you’re not used to asking for help, sometimes there isn’t any other way. Detail what is involved in each task or project and consider if there is someone who can assist. If it’s at work, talk to your manager about who may be able to work with you. If it’s at home, speak to family and friends or outsource tasks! Platforms like AirTasker can be an excellent resource.
Be realistic and learn to say no
Sometimes we say yes because we don’t want to disappoint others, but if it can’t be done – there’s no point in putting pressure on yourself and giving someone false expectations. Do you really have the time and resources?
Nearly everyone juggles multiple tasks in one way or another. Remember, only to take on what you can manage. Often the key to success is surrounding yourself with a good team – whether it’s in the workplace or in your personal life.
